Unique Features
Tam O'Shanter Lodge is truly a one-of-a-kind place, built on a grand scale with unique features and high-quality materials which was carefully planned, shaped, and molded on site by a team of experienced craftspeople.
When first arriving to the lodge it’s hard to miss the sandstone arch over the front door, the cedar shingles, and the late 1800’s replica light fixtures on the front of the lodge. Upon entering the lodge, you find yourself in a large great room, with 30-foot ceilings, large French doors leading to a deck, and a cozy seating area around the fireplace that was reclaimed from St. Jean’s church in Duluth. St Jean’s was built in the 1890’s and razed 100 years later. Then a beautifully handcrafted staircase decorated with stained-glass lighting on the posts and made of Honduran mahogany takes you up to the balcony off the full suite. |
"It’s tough to leave on the long journey back to Texas, but it’s good to know we’ll see you again next year… and the next… and the next."
